In search of comprehensive and lasting peace in Sudan, Egypt will host an international conference in June bringing together all Sudanese civilian political forces.
Since April 2023, Sudan has been in the grip of a civil war between the Sudanese army, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the paramilitary forces of General Hemetti.
This conference is part of the Egyptian desire to deploy all possible efforts to help its neighbor overcome the crisis which has serious repercussions on the Sudanese people and on regional security and stability.
Thousands of civilians have died in this war in Sudan and the humanitarian situation is increasingly catastrophic.
