The XBot-L robot produced by the Chinese company Robot Era has become the first robot in the world to walk with its feet on the Great Wall of China.
According to the company's experts, the XBot-L robot showed stability and maneuverability during walking on the fence, walked confidently on the fence and climbed the stairs successfully. Experts point out that Perceptive RL technology allows the robot to recognize the surrounding environment and make decisions in unfamiliar areas, so that it can analyze the type and quality of the road and, in light of that, change its gait at the appropriate time.
It is noteworthy that the Institute of Information Sciences of Tsinhua University founded the Robot Era company, and it is expected that the XBot-L robot will obtain new skills, such as using an elevator. The company also intends to design a more advanced humanoid robot.
