Heard a loud explosion before the accident, claims the loco pilot of Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express : India

Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express Train Accident: 15904 Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express going from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh met with an accident between Motiganj-Jhilahi stations. There were a total of 23 coaches in the train. Out of these, 21 bogies got derailed. The derailed bogies include 5 AC coaches, 1 pantry, 1 general and 14 sleeper coaches.

New Delhi:
On Thursday afternoon, 15904 Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express going from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh met with an accident between Motiganj-Jhilahi stations on Gonda-Mankapur rail route in Uttar Pradesh. In this accident, the AC coaches of the train derailed and overturned. 2 people have died in the accident, while more than 20 people have been injured. Meanwhile, the loco pilot of the train has made a big claim regarding the accident. The loco pilot of Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express claims that he heard the sound of an explosion before the accident. However, no official statement has come from the railways regarding the explosion.

According to the information, there were a total of 23 coaches in the train. Out of these, 21 coaches got derailed. The derailed coaches include 5 AC coaches, 1 pantry, 1 general and 14 sleeper coaches.


After the train accident, medical and emergency help teams have reached the spot. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals. Helpline numbers have also been issued at different stations for the convenience of passengers. After the train accident,
2 trains have been cancelled on this route. While the route of 11 trains has been diverted.

Railway Ministry has announced compensation
for the families of the deceased and the injured. The families of the deceased in the train accident will be given Rs 10 lakh, the seriously injured will be given Rs 2.5 lakh and the minor injured will be given Rs 50,000 as financial assistance.
