The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 rocked North Sulawesi on Wednesday morning at around 01.13 WIB.
Based on information collected from the BMKG website on Wednesday morning, this shallow earthquake with a depth of 10 kilometers occurred at coordinates 3.03 N 126.63 E or 103 kilometers Southwest of Melonguane, Talaud Regency, North Sulawesi Province.
Previously, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 also rocked North Sulawesi Province on Tuesday night (25/2) at around 22.59 WIB.
Based on information from the BMKG website, the earthquake occurred 28 kilometers northeast of Ondong, Sitaro Islands, Siau Tagulandang Biaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, located at a depth of 109 kilometers.
The earthquake was located at coordinates 2.80 LU, 125.61 BT Northeast of Ondong, Sitaro Islands, North Sulawesi.
"The earthquake has no tsunami potential," it said on the official BMKG website.
The same information states that the data submitted prioritizes speed, so the data processing results are not yet stable and can change as the data becomes more complete.
BMKG has not yet reported in detail regarding the triggers and impacts of the earthquake on the community.
