Jakarta - The Indonesian Hypertension Doctors Association (INASH) said that hypertension is currently a new health problem for teenagers who do not live a healthy lifestyle.
"Hypertension is not just a war for adults or the elderly. Not infrequently, in daily medical practice, hypertension can also be found in children, adolescents, productive age patients and pregnant women," said Secretary General of INASH Dr. BRM. Ario Soeryo Kuncoro, Sp.JP(K), FIHA in a media meeting in Jakarta, Friday.
Ario said that hypertension is one of the diseases whose incidence, morbidity and mortality rates are increasingly substantial.
The increase in the incidence of hypertension in children and adolescents in Indonesia is mainly caused by several factors such as obesity, children's lack of physical activity, spending too much time playing with devices, food intake high in calories and salt.
