Indonesia and Canada commit to promoting sustainable energy transition





Jakarta - The Indonesian government through the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) is committed to Canada in encouraging sustainable energy transition and increasing human resource (HR) capacity through strategic partnerships.

The Canadian government is said to have allocated US$91.4 million in funding, including US$81.4 million in soft loans and US$10 million in grants to support energy transition efforts in Indonesia.

"We appreciate Canada's strong support in the efforts for a just and sustainable energy transition. This cooperation is not only about funding, but also sharing knowledge and technology to achieve the net zero emission target by 2060," said Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy when receiving a visit from Canadian Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussen, quoted from an official statement, Jakarta, Thursday.
