Makassar - The Pinisi Festival is included in one of the tourism calendars of the 110 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2025, namely a collaboration strategy rolled out by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) this year.
"Alhamdulillah, this year the Pinisi Festival is again included in the 110 KEN 2025 of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy," said the Head of the Bulukumba Tourism, Youth and Sports Service (Disparpora) Ferryawan Fahmi when confirmed from Makassar, Tuesday.
KEN (Kharisma Event Nusantara) is a collaborative strategy between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with local governments and all tourism stakeholders to improve the image of Indonesian tourism and drive the revival of the tourism and creative economy sectors.
The Pinisi Festival is an annual event in Bulukumba Regency which is held to promote tourism and the creative economy in the area where the Pinisi boat originates, as well as being a moment to drive the economy of the community around the tourist destination.
According to him, this festival is aimed at empowering regional potential, introducing cultural diversity, and establishing Bulukumba as the main tourist destination in the Eastern Indonesia Region (KTI).
Meanwhile, KEN is a flagship program from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy which aims to promote regional tourism through various quality tourism agendas.
A rigorous curation process by a team of experts ensures that only the best travel events are selected for inclusion in the KEN list.
The inclusion of the Pinisi Festival in KEN based on the Decree of the Minister of Tourism No. SK/13/HK.01.02/MP/2025 concerning the Determination of 110 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2025 is the basis for the determination of the Pinisi Festival as part of KEN 2025.
In addition to the Pinisi Festival, three other tourism agendas from South Sulawesi also made it into the KEN 2025 list, namely the Makassar International Eight Festival & Forum (F8 Makassar) as the TOP 10 KEN (Makassar City, Makassar Culinary Night (Makassar City) and the Salo Karajae Festival (Parepare City).
