Kidney disease patients can fast with several conditions


Jakarta - Internal Medicine Specialist Consultant for Kidney and Hypertension, Dr. Tunggul D. Situmorang, Sp.PD-KGH, FINASIM, said that kidney disease sufferers may fast, however, they need to consult a doctor.

"Actually, can people with kidney disease fast? Yes, but consult a doctor first because according to the stage , the stages," said Tunggul in a press conference held in Jakarta, Thursday.

The member of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Nephrology Association also explained that kidney disease patients are advised to try fasting first one week before the month of Ramadan to see whether their condition is safe enough to carry out the fast.

In addition, he suggested consuming enough water during sahur and breaking the fast to prevent dehydration.
