Leo/Bagas step on the gas by advancing to the second round of the All England

Jakarta - Indonesian men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana stepped on the gas by easily winning over Taiwanese representatives Lee Fang-Chih/Lee Fang Jen in the first round of the 2025 All England.

In the match at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, England, Tuesday night WIB, the Red and White pair only needed 31 minutes to secure a ticket to the second round after winning 21-14, 21-11.

"In the match earlier, we played with a fast tempo but patiently and calmly. The opponent played a lot forward so we anticipated with variations in ball placement or defending first and then counterattacking," Bagas said in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Having fallen behind 5-9 at the start of the first game, Leo/Bagas came back by winning eight points in a row to turn things around to 13-9, until they closed the game with 21-14.

In the second game, they appeared more dominant until they immediately took the lead 7-3 and it became increasingly difficult for their opponents to keep up until they closed the game with a score of 21-11.
