Jakarta - Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq ensured that the government will restore the function of all upstream areas so that if there are buildings that do not comply with regulations, they will be immediately demolished.
Hanif said the government is currently still mapping buildings that violate regulations in upstream areas, not only those in the Puncak area, but also in Sentul and Bekasi.
"I think it's enough that we acted too rashly. We need to return the upstream areas. All upstream areas, in Bekasi too, Sentul," said Hanif when met at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/3).
Hanif continued that currently there are around 30 buildings in the Puncak area, Bogor, that will be demolished, but the data is likely to increase considering that the ministry is still studying the existing data.
