In a statement on its Telegram channel, the Qassam Brigades said its fighters had carried out an ambush on Saturday targeting a Storm military jeep belonging to the command of the combat information gathering battalion in the Gaza Division. The ambush involved an anti-tank missile, resulting in confirmed casualties among the force.

The statement added: "As soon as the support force arrived at the scene to rescue the injured, it was targeted with a TV3 anti-personnel bomb, resulting in deaths and injuries among its ranks."

A newly established Israeli occupation forces position in the area was also targeted with four RPG shells and mortar shells, according to the statement.

On Saturday evening, the Israeli military acknowledged the death of one of its officers and the serious injury of three other soldiers, including a female officer, during a battle in the northern Gaza Strip.

This brings the number of soldiers whose deaths the occupation army has acknowledged since the start of its war of extermination in Gaza on October 7, 2023, to 847, including 408 since the start of the ground operation on the 27th of the same month.

Data from the army, which is accused of concealing the true toll of its losses, indicates that 5,780 officers and soldiers have been wounded since the beginning of the war on Gaza, including 2,603 ​​in ground combat.

The data includes officers and soldiers killed or wounded in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Israel.
