Dengue vaccination launched in North Minahasa to suppress spike in dengue fever.

The Minahasa Utara Regency Government, North Sulawesi, has launched a dengue vaccination program as an effort to suppress the spike in dengue fever (DBD) cases which has continued to increase in the past three years.

North Minahasa Regent Joune Ganda said the launch of this program is in line with the direction of the Ministry of Health through the 2021–2025 National Dengue Control Strategy.

"North Minahasa recorded a dengue fever incidence rate above the national target. This vaccination program is a real step to protect the community," Joune said in a statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Friday.

Head of the North Minahasa Health Service, Dr. Stella Safitri, added that even though the mosquito nest eradication program (PSN) continues to be intensified, dengue fever cases remain high.
