Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital reveals two aspects of Indonesia's efforts to grow AI innovators

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria revealed two aspects that the Government of the Republic of Indonesia prioritizes to develop artificial intelligence (AI) innovators in the country.

"We have to build two things, first strengthening the AI ​​development infrastructure and the ecosystem for AI infrastructure development. Second, we have to build an R&D cluster to strengthen computing capacity in this AI matter," Nezar said in a discussion at Binus University, South Jakarta, Friday.

The Government considers these two aspects important to encourage the emergence of AI innovators considering that Indonesia is currently still in the early stages of utilizing AI and is still focused on learning its use as a user.

Considering the opportunity for this technology to grow so rapidly, especially now that not only generative AI is developing but has also penetrated the development of AI for independent decision-making or what is called agentic AI, Indonesia needs to develop domestic AI innovators.
