Digital audio streaming platform Spotify announced that it has expanded the availability of its AI Playlist feature to more than 40 additional countries, including countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Sunday, this AI-based feature, which is currently in beta on Android and iOS devices, allows listeners to create personal playlists based on written commands, such as "fill the silence with music like in a cafe".
Spotify AI will then curate a selection of songs that match that mood. The commands used can be very diverse, ranging from various genres, decades, animals, colors, emojis, to movie characters.
In April 2024, Spotify first rolled out the feature to Premium users in the UK and Australia. About five months later, the feature was expanded to the US, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand.
