Jakarta - Adult clinical psychologist graduated from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia Teresa Indira Andani, M.Psi. Psychologist said the change in relaxed atmosphere during the holidays to the school start phase can cause children to experience anxiety or what is called post holiday blues .
"In addition to feeling lazy, some children can also feel anxious, for example being afraid of facing a pile of schoolwork or having difficulty adapting again to friends," said Teresa in an interview via text message to ANTARA, Monday.
Teresa said that post-holiday blues may be felt by children aged 6-12 years because at this age, children begin to learn to be more independent and want to feel capable in various things, but the sudden change from a relaxed atmosphere to school rules can make them reluctant to return.
This is also because the way of thinking of children of this age is still concrete, so it is difficult for them to understand why they have to leave the fun of the holiday and return to their routine.
