"A dangerous escalation." The Syrian presidency condemns the Israeli bombing of the vicinity of the presidential palace.

In a statement posted on Telegram, the presidency called on "the international community and Arab countries to stand with Syria in confronting these aggressive attacks, which violate international laws and conventions."

In its statement, it said, "The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the bombing of the presidential palace yesterday by the Israeli occupation, which constitutes a dangerous escalation against state institutions and sovereignty."

It also called on "Arab countries to unify their positions and express their full support for Syria in confronting these attacks, ensuring the preservation of the rights of Arab peoples to confront aggressive Israeli practices."

She stressed that "these attacks targeting Syria's unity, whether local or external, will not succeed in weakening the will of the Syrian people or hindering the state's efforts to achieve stability and peace in all regions."

In its statement, the presidency warned that this reprehensible attack reflects the continuation of reckless movements seeking to destabilize the country and exacerbate security crises, targeting national security and the unity of the Syrian people.

Earlier today, the Israeli military announced an airstrike on an area adjacent to the presidential palace in the capital, Damascus. Tel Aviv described the strike as a "warning message" to the Syrian administration in Damascus.

In a joint statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz commented on the bombing, saying, "This is a clear message to the Syrian regime (the new administration): We will not allow the deployment of forces south of Damascus or any threat to the Druze."

Israel is attempting to exploit the Druze component to impose its intervention in Syria, even as Damascus asserts that all components of the population are equal in rights.
