Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid said that Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection or PP Tunas can not only protect children, but can provide protection for all users of digital space.
While focusing on the safety and security of children in digital spaces, this regulation supports the creation of a more conducive digital space for all internet users.
"When the security of the digital ecosystem is strengthened, it is not only children who benefit, but also everyone in the digital realm. We want all parties to be comfortable, because the rules are clear like the rules of the game in the market," said Meutya in a podcast event.
According to the latest data, 48 percent of internet users in Indonesia are children under 18 years of age who are vulnerable to becoming targets of crime in the digital space.
"We see that there are applications that are indeed naughty. This is not merely the result of algorithms that adjust user interests, but there is a tendency for these contents to be deliberately directed at vulnerable groups including children," said Meutya.
