This came in a post on Twitter on Monday, commenting on the decision of the terrorist organization PKK to dissolve itself and lay down its weapons, following a call by its leader, Abdullah Ocalan.
Alton explained that the decision to dissolve and disarm the terrorist organization itself is a clear indication that the goal of a "terror-free Turkey," initiated under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has gained momentum and made significant progress.
Alton stated that Türkiye has paid a heavy price, suffered hardships, and sacrificed its sons for the sake of its homeland to reach this point after more than 40 years.
He stressed that Türkiye will continue, with all its knowledge, capabilities, and expertise, to create an environment of peace and stability.
He added, "The necessary measures will be taken smoothly and properly to achieve the goal of a terrorism-free Türkiye, and all steps will be taken with transparency, care, and firmness."
At the end of last February, Ocalan called for the dissolution of all PKK-affiliated groups and an end to its terrorist activities, which have continued for more than 40 years.
Earlier on Monday, the terrorist PKK announced its decision to dissolve itself and lay down its arms in response to a call by its founder, Abdullah Ocalan.
