This came during a joint press conference on Monday with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad al-Shaibani, and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, following a tripartite meeting in Ankara.
Fidan stressed that the YPG terrorist organization's occupation of a third of Syria's territory poses a threat to it.
He added, "There are practical steps to be taken after the decision to dissolve the PKK itself, and we will closely monitor them." He stated that if the decision to dissolve the organization itself is implemented sincerely, it will be beneficial for everyone's future.
Earlier on Monday, the terrorist organization PKK announced its decision to dissolve itself and lay down its arms in response to the call of its founder, Abdullah Ocalan.
At the end of last February, Ocalan called for the dissolution of all PKK-affiliated groups and an end to its terrorist activities, which have continued for more than 40 years.
