PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk or BNI provides subsidized housing financing solutions for Indonesian Migrant Workers as an effort to support the government's target to provide affordable housing for 20,000 PMI.
The support was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between BNI and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI), and BP Tapera and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), at the Bumi Pagaden Permai 3 Housing Complex, Subang Regency, West Java (Jabar), Thursday.
BNI Consumer Banking Director Corina Leyla Karnalies said the memorandum of understanding was a joint synergy in supporting housing financing for PMI through the BP Tapera and KPR Sejahtera Programs.
In addition, it is also a real manifestation of BNI as a global bank that is present for Indonesian people all over the world.
He said that so far, BNI overseas branches have interacted quite frequently with PMI.
Until now, he said, 390 BNI customers are recorded as PMI with a total savings value of around IDR 2.3 trillion.
Minister for Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding said that the large number of savings of BNI customers from among PMI is worthy of appreciation.
