 Still in the context of commemorating National Book Day the TikTok platform is building an ecosystem that supports the development of literacy and attracts the interest of users who love reading through the hashtags #BookTok and #SerunyaMembaca as its magnets.

TikTok Indonesia's Senior Manager of Public Relations and Communication, Edwin Lengkei, in an online media meeting on Tuesday, said that the global hashtag #BookTok has more than 55 million posts related to reading, which is real evidence of how enthusiastic TikTok users are about literacy content. In Indonesia, the hashtag #SerunyaMembaca is also no less active with more than 400 thousand posts.

Edwin said that the hashtag #SerunyaMembaca is a TikTok initiative launched in 2022. Through this hashtag, the book-loving community can share recommendations, creative reviews, enthusiastic book unboxings, and short "storytelling" that draws attention to the core of the story.
