Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti said he was happy to finally announce his first Brazil squad after he was officially introduced as their new coach.
Ancelotti has just named his first 25-man Brazil squad for the two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador on June 6 at the Monumental Stadium and Paraguay on June 11 at the Neo Quimica Arena.
"Let's do it together, we need all of you. I was welcomed here with a lot of affection. This is my first call and I am very happy," said the coach who was brought in from Real Madrid, as quoted from the official website of the Brazilian national team.
Ancelotti, who will be 66 on June 10, said becoming a national team coach for the first time would be a challenge. This will be his first experience in Italy after being assistant coach to Arrigo Sacchi from 1992-1995.
However, the coach who has coached 10 different clubs in his career admitted that he will be able to overcome this challenge because he has had a good relationship with the Brazilian players for a long time.
"My relationship with Brazil started very early, in the 80s. I have coached 34 Brazilian players. I can name them all, because I have a good memory. However, I think it would be rude to forget them," he said.
