China has released implementation guidelines to accelerate high-quality development in the science and technology (iptek) services sector.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and seven other Chinese government agencies jointly issued the guidelines.
The guidelines set targets to improve the development ecosystem, expand the scale and efficiency of the sector, accelerate the transformation and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and support the integrated development of scientific and technological innovation in the industry.The guidelines call for the comprehensive development of the scientific and technological services sector, outlining specific tasks in key areas such as research and development (R&D), technology transfer and commercialization, business incubation, and technology promotion.The guidelines also underline the need to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the scientific and technological services sector, enhance innovation in scientific and technological services, deepen the integration of next-generation information technologies, and expand the application of advanced green technologies.
