PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun is increasing passenger capacity on the Singasari and Bangunkarta trains for premium economy class to meet high demand during the long weekend holiday coinciding with Waisak Day on May 9-13, 2025.
Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun Rokhmad Makin Zainul in Madiun, Saturday said that Daop 7 added the train formation on the Singasari train on the Blitar-Pasarsenen Station route and the Bangunkarta train on the Jombang-Pasarsenen Station route, by adding one premium economy class train with a capacity of 80 seats (TD) on each train.
"The addition of the train formation is to accommodate customer needs for mobilization during the long weekend holiday coinciding with Waisak Day," said Zainul in Madiun, East Java.
According to him, the additional capacity is an anticipatory measure to ensure that services remain excellent amidst the surge in passengers.
He noted that there was a significant increase in the number of passengers during the long weekend holiday period coinciding with Waisak Day on May 9-13, 2025 compared to regular weekends.
According to the data, there were 8,807 long-distance train (KAJJ) passenger arrivals on Friday (9/5/2025).
"Of that number, there was an increase of 46 percent compared to the number of passenger arrivals on Friday (2/5/2025)," said Zainul.
As for departures from Daop 7 Madiun area stations, it is predicted that there will be around 15,000 customers throughout the long weekend of Waisak Day.This number can still increase until the train departure time.
"KAI Daop 7 Madiun always urges customers to pay attention to the departure schedule and arrange their travel time to the station, so as not to be too close or miss the train.
