Depok City Government will launch the Red and White Cooperative on June 20, 2025.

 The Depok City Cooperative and Micro Business Service (DKUM) is ready to launch the Red and White Cooperative of Depok City on June 20, 2025, earlier than the provincial and national launch schedules.Head of DKUM of Depok City, Mohamad Thamrin, said that the Red and White Cooperative is a national program stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2025."During the era of President Soeharto, farmers were greatly helped by the existence of KUD (Village Unit Cooperative). Now, with the Red and White Cooperative, we want to bring back similar benefits, but with a wider scope and adapting to the current needs of the community," said Thamrin.Nationally, the target is to form 80 thousand cooperatives, with West Java Province receiving a target of 5,900 cooperatives.For Depok City itself, at least one cooperative will be formed in each sub-district, or as many as 63 cooperatives.Thamrin also explained that all stages of the cooperative formation are fully supported by the Depok City Government (Pemkot), without burdening the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) or Unexpected Expenditure (BTT) funds.DKUM allocated an internal efficiency budget of IDR 500 million to fund the socialization process, assistance, and notary deeds."Alhamdulillah, the notary fee has been agreed at IDR 2.5 million through cooperation with the Indonesian Notary Association. This cost is fully borne by the Depok City APBD. Village heads, sub-district heads, and the community do not need to spend personal funds," he said.Each cooperative is targeted to have a minimum of 500 members by involving various elements of society such as LPM, PKK, youth organizations, RW representatives, MSMEs, religious leaders, and community leaders.The business units that will be developed include the provision of basic necessities, MSME raw materials, to the potential for opening health clinics and other service providers.
