Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria encouraged media industry players and the press to seek new business models amid the dominance of digital platforms in information distribution and changes in people's behavior to consume more information through social media.
"So how do we find a new business model for the press today so that it can grow strong, healthy and can carry out its duties as the fourth pillar of democracy," he said in an official statement.
This expression is a form of special attention to the sustainability of national media. According to Nezar, there are many opportunities for new business models that can be taken by national media industry players.
