Eight players nominated for 2024/25 Premier League Player of the Year

The Premier League has officially released the names of eight candidates for the 2024/2025 Premier League Player of the Year award, quoted from the Premier League's official website.

Liverpool, who emerged as champions this season, dominate the list with three representatives, namely Mohamed Salah, Ryan Gravenberch, and captain Virgil van Dijk.

In addition, there are also two players from Nottingham Forest who have caught the attention, namely Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood. Three other names complete the list, namely Alexander Isak (Newcastle United), Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), and Declan Rice (Arsenal).

Salah is the most prominent candidate with a record of 28 goals and 18 assists from 36 games, just one goal or assist away from the record for the most goals in a single Premier League season.

Gravenberch, despite not having a goal tally, has consistently anchored Liverpool's midfield with 185 recoveries and 67 tackles, the most among his teammates.

Meanwhile, Van Dijk has been the leader of the back line with 14 clean sheets and 2,814 successful passes. Van Dijk's tally is the most in the league.
