Eko Yuli is included in Group B of the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships.

Senior Indonesian lifter Eko Yuli Irawan will start his journey at the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships from Group B in the 67kg class, with a total initial lift of 290kg based on the final entry of the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF).

Eko is in eighth place out of 18 lifters who will compete in the class. In the event that will be held in Jiangshan, China, from May 9-15, he will compete with a number of big names, including the host representative Zheng Xinhao who recorded the highest lift on the provisional list, namely 330 kg.

Tough competition also came from the Vietnamese lifter who won gold at the 2023 SEA Games, Tran Minh Tri, who registered a total lift of 310kg, as well as two other lifters, namely Muhamad Aznil bin Bidin from Malaysia and Khusinboy Matrasulov from Uzbekistan who both registered a total of 305kg.

Despite facing fierce competition, Eko said before leaving for China that his participation this time was not focused on winning medals.

"We have undergone the preparation, although my condition has not fully recovered from the injury. But I enjoy it. This is a warm-up event before the main target at the 2025 SEA Games," said Eko Yuli.
