Former defender Diego Godin believes striker Julian Alvarez will shine with Atletico Madrid at the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
According to the FIFA website, Tuesday, Godin, a former Atletico player, said that although Alvarez had won many titles with Manchester City, he believed the Argentine striker had other ambitions with Atletico.
"I have no doubt that Julian will be the star of the tournament as he has been so far," Godin said.
Godin backs Alvarez to lead Atletico to victory in the FIFA tournament. Atletico are in Group B with Paris Saint-Germain, Botafogo and Seattle Sounders FC.
