Banten baseball team coach Jesse Parengkuan said fatigue was one of the factors in his team's 4-8 defeat to West Java in the semifinals of the 2025 Men's Open Baseball National Championship.
According to him, the players were exhausted after going through the four previous qualifying matches, so that condition could be exploited well by the opponent.
"So if the physical condition is slack or declines, automatically concentration decreases, so the playing is also reduced," said Jesse after the match organized by the Executive Board of the All Indonesia Baseball Softball Association (PB Perbasasi) at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Baseball Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday.
He explained, in terms of team strength, Banten is balanced with the West Java team because in the first meeting or during the preliminary round, Azfarhan Munaf and his friends were able to win against West Java.

Jesse added that, apart from physical fatigue, the players were also not well prepared to face the match in that round.
This caused the team spirit and cooperation to decrease significantly compared to when the national tournament started, so that Ranjani and his colleagues made many unnecessary mistakes.
"The mistakes were not covered up by the batters either, it looked like they were hitting the ball well, but all the balls were too easy for the opposing team to catch," he said.
