The Oklahoma City Thunder need just one more win to advance to the NBA Finals after avenging their crushing defeat with a dramatic 128-126 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday WIB.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the star of the show, posting 40 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a solid performance that reflected his status as this season's NBA MVP.
"I tried not to think too much about scoring or the game. I just tried to concentrate, be aggressive and pick my moments," Gilgeous-Alexander said after the game, as quoted from the NBA website.
The Thunder played with determination after losing by 42 points in Game 3. Their strong performance was immediately visible from the start of the match with an 11-of-17 shooting rate in the first quarter.
Jalen Williams scored 34 points on an efficient 13-of-24 shooting, including six three-pointers on nine attempts.
Chet Holmgren also added 21 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in his hometown of Minneapolis.
The Thunder had some pressure from the Timberwolves in the final quarter, but Gilgeous-Alexander's two free throws in the final 6.1 seconds brought them back within three points.
Anthony Edwards, who had a subpar 16 points, tried to steal a shot by intentionally missing his second free throw for a two-pointer with 3.5 seconds left, but Gilgeous-Alexander got the ball and threw it out to run out the clock.
