Google announced plans to bring its artificial intelligence-based virtual assistant Gemini to Wear OS, Google TV, Android XR and Android Auto devices.
The move, announced at the Android Show is part of the company's larger plan to replace Google Assistant across devices and platforms with Gemini.
As quoted in the TechCrunch broadcast Google stated that this expansion will allow users to access Gemini while doing activities such as running or relaxing at home.
Gemini will be coming to Wear OS in the coming months.
Wear OS smartwatch users will be able to use Gemini while cooking, cycling, and other situations where using a phone is difficult.
Google says that users can talk naturally to Gemini, without having to use specific word commands.
For example, when in the gym locker room and the phone is put away, the user can simply say, "Remind me, I'm using locker number 43 today."
Because Gemini is integrated with various apps, users can also ask about restaurants mentioned in emails without having to open their phones.
