Google has launched the AI Futures Fund initiative to support startups building products using the latest artificial intelligence (AI) tools from Google's AI research lab DeepMind.
The funding initiative, launched on will help startups from early to late stages with varying levels of support, according to a TechCrunch release .
The support includes allowing selected startup founders to gain early access to Google's AI models from DeepMind, work with Google experts from DeepMind and Google Labs, and access Google Cloud credits.
Some startups will also have the opportunity to receive direct investment from Google.
“The AI Futures Fund does not follow a batch or cohort model,” a Google spokesperson told TechCrunch.
He said the company is considering rolling out opportunities without a specific time limit or application window.
"When we find a company that fits this fund's thesis, we will likely choose to invest," he said.
The company did not announce a specific fund size at this time, stating that the investment size will be adjusted according to the company's stage and needs.
