The government through the Ministry of Communication and Digital in collaboration with social media platforms encourages them to scan or screen negative content in order to create a safe digital space for children.
"Their technology is more sophisticated, so it is their home that knows if there is negative content, we hope they will be the first to take it down from the platforms," said Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid when met by the media in Purwakarta, Wednesday.
He said that to create a child-friendly digital realm, the government cannot work alone by simply taking down sites that are considered unhealthy.
