"Young Indonesian athletes managed to win three medals in the 2025 Philippine Athletics Championships held at the New Clark City Athletic Stadium, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines," wrote the official Instagram of PB PASI, Monday.
The three medals were contributed by two athletes, namely Francia Richelle Matital and Muhammad Fauzan. Francia won two medals, namely silver and bronze.
Francia's silver medal was in the U-18 women's 1,500-meter run with a time of 5 minutes 12.04 seconds. Meanwhile, Francia won the bronze medal in the U-18 women's 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes 20.34 seconds.
Meanwhile, Fauzan won a silver medal after recording a time of 14.69 seconds in the men's 110-meter hurdles.
Francia and Fauzan are two of four athletes sent by PASI to the Philippines. In addition to the two of them, Anang Jerry and Soeyet Harman Jisuan from West Java represented Indonesia in this event. The four athletes were accompanied by coach Panji Renal (Jakarta) while in the Philippines.
This event is an important opportunity for young athletes to gain experience competing at the international level and hone their skills to face major competitions in the future.
Meanwhile, this achievement is a continuation of the achievements of the Indonesian athletics team which previously competed in the 85th Singapore Open Track and Field Championships held at the National Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub.
