Mixed doubles head coach Rionny Mainaky said Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, aged 22 and 20 respectively, have shown the capacity to compete at the top level, despite their young age.
Rionny said the championship titles won by Jafar/Felisha at the 2025 Taiwan Open and the 2025 Asian Championship semifinals were proof that this mixed doubles pair was worthy of being considered at the elite level, including in the 2025 Singapore Open at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 7-June 1.
"Jafar/Felisha have proven themselves by winning the Super 300 level and reaching the semifinals of the Asian Championship which is equivalent to Super 1000. This is their capital. With their young age, their level can already be above," said Rionny in a written statement from PP PBSI in Jakarta, Monday.
Rionny also assessed that this couple has a strong foundation of discipline, mentality, and lifestyle that supports their careers as professional athletes.
"They just need to improve their playing style. The strategy has to be rich, they have to play against who they want to play against," he said.
Rionny hopes that Jafar/Felisha, who will face Taiwanese representatives Ming Che Lu/Hung En-Tzu, will go far at the 2025 Singapore Open.
