The Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Alexander Sabar revealed that World App or Worldcoin has been collecting retina data from users of its services in Indonesia since 2021.
"We received information that they have been collecting data in Indonesia since 2021," said Alexander at the Kemkomdigi Office in Jakarta, Friday.
According to him, World App has collected more than 500 thousand retina data of its service users in Indonesia.
Alexander said that the application manager has obtained an Electronic System Organizer Registration Certificate, so the government has been monitoring it since it began operating in Indonesia.
"In fact, supervision has been carried out and there is an analysis of what the PSE has done, that's why we continued yesterday by summoning the related parties," he said regarding the supervision of the World App.
