The Ministry of Communication and Digital has taken steps to protect the public from exposure to online gambling content , including strengthening the infrastructure and governance of digital space supervision.
"The Ministry of Communication and Digital is strengthening the infrastructure and governance of digital program supervision by adopting the latest technology and methods in eradicating and pursuing perpetrators of cybercrime," said the Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology, Alexander Sabar, in Jakarta, Friday.
Kemkomdigi collaborates with various stakeholders in monitoring efforts to prevent online gambling activities and collaborates with digital platform managers in monitoring the implementation of content moderation to prevent the spread of gambling content online.
In addition, Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection or PP Tunas has been enacted to improve protection for children in the digital space.
The government also regulates the governance of SIM Card usage, which limits SIM Card ownership per Population Identification Number in an effort to increase the security of the digital space.
"All these efforts are of course carried out in conjunction with collaborative and participatory digital literacy efforts from stakeholders, including from the community and society," said Alexander.
