Martyrs and wounded in new massacres by the occupation in Gaza.. The number of martyred journalists reaches 213

The ministry said in its daily statistical report on the number of dead and wounded as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip: "38 martyrs (including 4 whose bodies were recovered from the rubble) and 145 wounded arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals in the past 24 hours."

She added that the death toll since Israel resumed its genocide on March 18 has reached "2,545 martyrs and 6,856 wounded."

Thus, the ministry announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 52,653 and 118,897 injured since October 7, 2023.

The ministry noted that "a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them."

The Palestinian death toll from Israeli warplanes bombing two schools in the al-Bureij refugee camp and Gaza City since last night and early Wednesday morning has risen to 49 martyrs and 73 wounded, most of them children, women, and the elderly, according to WAFA and the government media office in Gaza.

The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that the death toll from the two massacres committed by the occupation forces in the bombing of Abu Hamisa School, which houses displaced persons in the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, last night, has risen to 33 martyrs and 73 wounded. The school was targeted twice.

The death toll from the bombing of Al-Karama School east of Gaza City this morning rose to 16 martyrs and dozens more wounded.

Later that day, a medical source reported that the Israeli occupation forces also targeted Al-Karama School in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, which was sheltering displaced persons, resulting in the deaths of seven Palestinians.

Since the beginning of the war, the occupying forces have targeted 234 medical facilities, a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws. The statement added that these attacks come at a time when Gaza's health system is in complete collapse due to the destruction of hospitals and other health facilities, as well as a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies. The war has also placed medical staff under immense pressure due to the closure of crossings and the prevention of fuel imports.

The Government Media Office called on the international community, the United Nations, human rights and humanitarian organizations, and free nations around the world to take urgent action to halt what it described as the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians, demanding an end to the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.

In a separate development, the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has risen to 213. This comes after the death of journalist Nour al-Din Matar Abdo, a broadcaster and editor for several media outlets, as a result of a bombing that targeted the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.

The government office condemned the targeting of journalists, calling on human rights and press organizations around the world to condemn these ongoing crimes against journalists in Gaza.

The government office also held Israel, the US administration, and countries complicit in the genocide in Gaza, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for these crimes against journalists. It called for effective pressure to be exerted on Israel to stop these crimes and protect journalists and media professionals in Gaza.
