Microsoft has reportedly begun designing Windows Update, a service from the Windows operating system that is tasked with carrying out system updates, to also be used to update all third-party applications that need to be updated.
The software giant is now allowing app developers to sign up for a private preview into its Windows Update orchestration platform, which will allow Windows Update to support any future updates to apps or drivers.
As reported by The Verge, the platform is currently mostly focused on business applications, but will be open to any management application or tool in the future.
