Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid asked the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center and the Indonesian Police (Polri) as law enforcers to be able to utilize artificial intelligence ( AI ) to handle cybercrime in Indonesia.
According to Meutya, the use of AI by the government to handle cybercrime is necessary because currently cybercriminals have also become fluent in using AI to launch actions that are detrimental to society, not only targeting Indonesian society but also globally.
"This technology changes every day, this AI technology, so how we from the Ministry, the Chief of Police as Law Enforcer, PPATK in monitoring, can always use the most sophisticated technology if we want to be two or three steps ahead," said Meutya in the Risk-Based Mentoring Program at the PPATK Building.
