Minister of Transportation Dudy Pirwagandi said he was investigating the owner of the dump truck loaded with sand that hit a public transport vehicle on the Magelang-Purworejo downhill road, Purworejo Regency, Central Java, which killed up to 11 people.
The Minister of Transportation, when met after the DPR RI Commission V Working Meeting in Jakarta, Thursday, said that his party had sent officials from the Ministry of Transportation to the location of the incident to investigate further the status and ownership of the truck.
"I am sending people or sending our officials from the Ministry (of Transportation) to see more details, what form does it take? Is this a business entity? Sometimes there may also be individuals who manage vehicles," said the Minister of Transportation.
According to him, there is a possibility that the truck is operated by a business entity or an individual, so its legal status needs to be investigated.
He stated that vehicles that are not registered and do not have official permits are considered violations, and these violations will be handed over to law enforcement officers for further processing.
