OpenAI's ambitious data center project called Stargate is likely to face delays due to economic uncertainty triggered by the United States government's import tariff policy, according to a Bloomberg report cited by TechCrunch .
The technology publication said in its release that increasing market volatility and increasingly cheap artificial intelligence (AI) services were making banks, private equity investors and asset managers cautious about investing in Stargate.
OpenAI's Stargate project aims to raise up to $500 billion for AI infrastructure development in the United States and other countries.
SoftBank said in January it would invest heavily in the project.
However, according to a Bloomberg report , the bank has not yet developed a financing model or started detailed discussions with potential backers.
