OpenAI will reportedly reduce the portion of revenue distributed to its investor and close partner, Microsoft, in 2030.
The news comes after OpenAI this week changed its major restructuring plans, opting for a new approach that would see the company’s for-profit operations transformed into a public benefit corporation (PBC), but still controlled by its nonprofit division, as reported by Tech Crunch.
OpenAI currently has a deal to share 20 percent of its total revenue with Microsoft. However, the artificial intelligence (AI) company has told investors that it expects to share only 10 percent of its revenue with its business partners, including Microsoft, by the end of the decade, the report said.
