Paris Saint-Germain player Ousmane Dembele admitted that he can't wait to play in the Champions League final against Inter Milan in Munich, Germany.
"It's a game we wanted to play in and a game we've dreamed of since we were kids. Playing in the Champions League final is amazing," Dembele was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Friday.
PSG secured their place in the final after eliminating three English teams in the knockout stages, starting with Liverpool in the last 16, Aston Villa in the quarter-finals and finally Arsenal in the semi-finals.
This is PSG's second Champions League final since being taken over by Qatari investors in 2011. Their first was in the 2019/2020 season, when Les Parisiens suffered a 0-1 defeat to treble-winning Bayern Munich that season.
"You need a lot of focus and a lot of pride, and hopefully we will win this game, but it will not be easy against this Inter team. They are a very difficult team to play against, but anything can happen in a final," said Dembele.
Dembele is entering the best season of his career after this season he has been very productive, recording double figures in goals (33) and assists (13).
In the Champions League, the 28-year-old striker has scored eight goals. His total goals are only second to five players, Jonathan David (9 goals), Harry Kane (11 goals), Robert Lewandowski (11 goals), Raphinha (12 goals), and Serhou Guirassy (13 goals).
Meanwhile, the Champions League trophy will have different meanings for both teams. For PSG, they will achieve the treble winners this season after winning the French League and the French Cup.
