Palestinian leader: Netanyahu is prolonging the war to displace Palestinians and erase their cause.

Abu Yousef added in statements that the far-right government in Israel "continues its existence at the expense of Palestinian blood and the continuation of the policy of killing and liquidation."

He continued, "Netanyahu is developing scenarios, most notably the continuation of this war with the aim of displacement and erasing the Palestinian cause."

In addition, Israel seeks to "undermine Palestinian representation within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate representative of the people, and its executive arm, the Palestinian National Authority," he said.

Abu Yousef asserted that Netanyahu continues his attempts "to expel Palestinians by killing civilians, including women and children, in incidents that occur before the eyes and ears of the world."

He stressed that Israel's "war of genocide, destruction, and killing is due to American partnership, support, and backing, in addition to the international community's inability to fulfill its pledges and obligations to pressure the occupation to stop the war, impose sanctions on it, and compel it to respect international legitimacy resolutions and international law."

Earlier on Monday, Netanyahu said that the security cabinet, during a lengthy meeting on Sunday, approved expanding the ongoing genocide in Gaza, affirming his determination to reoccupy the besieged enclave, according to a televised address he posted on his X account.

In the same context, Abu Yousef said that the Palestinian leadership is conducting contacts and making moves with various parties in the international community "for the primary and fundamental goal of halting this war and rejecting all aspects of displacement. This is a position supported internationally and regionally, particularly by Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia."

Netanyahu said in his remarks on Sunday evening that "there is a plan to evacuate the residents of the Gaza Strip," claiming that the goal is to "protect them," without elaborating.

The PLO leader expressed his hope that the Arab summit, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on May 17, would produce "practical mechanisms, including imposing a boycott on the occupation and pressuring it to stop the war."

He pointed to the continued Palestinian efforts at the International Court of Justice and the Security Council to address the ongoing war of aggression and illegal settlement expansion.
