Indonesian national team coach Patrick Kluivert said he had communicated with Elkan Baggott and understood the 22-year-old player's reluctance to accept a call-up from the Garuda team.
Quoted from the Indonesian national team YouTube account.
Kluivert explained that Baggott chose not to be called because he wanted to get playing minutes at his club, Blackpool.
"I spoke to him before the games against Australia and Bahrain. And he said he was afraid of losing his place at the club he plays for. So he chose not to be called up. And now there are other players in his position who are doing well and they can also prove themselves," Kluivert explained.
