The Central Board of the Indonesian Badminton Association has called up 10 additional athletes from the 2025 National Selection to join the Cipayung National Training Center starting June 2.
This addition completes the seven athletes who won the National Selection who were previously declared to have qualified for the second stage of the national training, after going through a series of selections on February 11-15.
Head of Development and Achievement Division of PP PBSI Eng Hian said that this year's selection process was designed to be more systematic, professional, and holistic in order to support sustainable athlete development.
"The assessment is not only based on winning or losing, but how the athlete's potential can be read as a whole. We want a more objective and in-depth process," Eng Hian said in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.
The selection involves an independent Final Determination Team consisting of administrators and professionals from within and outside PBSI.
The evaluation was carried out not only based on achievements in the field, but also considering technical aspects, body posture, fighting spirit, as well as the results of medical, physical, and psychological tests conducted at the Kopassus Headquarters on February 16–22, 2025.
In this process, PBSI collaborates with national coaches and talent scouts such as Hendrawan, Bambang Supriyanto, Harry Hartono, and Yoga Ukikasah.
