Owners who keep pets at home need to pay more attention to their health because they can transmit diseases to pets at home.
As written on the Channel News Asia page, Wednesday (30/4), the head of internal medicine and specialist in small animal internal medicine at Beecroft Animal Specialist & Emergency Hospital, Dr. Anne-Claire Duchaussoy, said that although it is rare for pets to catch the common cold or influenza from humans, COVID-19 has shown a unique pattern.
“Some pets, especially cats, appear to be more susceptible to diseases like COVID-19 because of similarities between their cell receptors and human cell receptors,” says Dr. Duchaussoy.
