 Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that Indonesia and Thailand are committed to increasing bilateral trade, which has currently reached around 18 billion US dollars.

This was the result of a bilateral meeting with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra at Government House Thailand.

"We are also committed to holding the First Joint Trade Commission in the near future and increasing cooperation between Thai investment institutions and Danantara, an Indonesian investment management institution," President Prabowo Subianto said in a statement received.

In addition, the two countries also encourage cooperation in the halal industry, digital economy, and aviation technology.

During his state visit to Bangkok, Thailand, Prabowo was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and other delegates.

In the meeting, the two heads of state also agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation in various important sectors, from defense to trade, as well as regional and global issues.

"Indonesia and Thailand have a long and deep friendship. We have had diplomatic relations for 75 years," he said.

Thailand also expressed its readiness to host the first meeting of the Joint Trade Commission which will discuss expanding the trade potential of the two countries.
